“Be the Leading Lady of your Own Damn Life” is much more of a mission statement than a tag line for me and my work.

The term ‘lady’ obviously has a LOT of historical baggage and patriarchal/racist/classist weight on it – of which I’m acutely aware.

“Leading Lady” is different though.

In opera, theater and film, the Leading Lady is the female (or femme presenting) person in the starring role.

There are synonyms – diva, prima donna – that kinda mean the same thing, but the energy of the words is not the same.

The moniker of Leading Lady has a grace and accessibility infused in it that the terms ‘diva’ and ‘prima donna’ simply … don’t.

For me, a leading lady is ambitious and kind;
exclusive and inclusive;
unapologetically claiming her spotlight without stomping on the chorus to get it.

I’m not diminishing anyone who aspires to or resonates with being either a prima donna or diva.

The world needs as many strong womxn as are prepared to take the stage.

However, I am not that.

I do not use words like ‘slay’ or ‘hustle’. I have been called a badass many a time, but the word tastes foreign to me.

But don’t make the mistake of underestimating my power. 

There is steel under this glamour.
My effervescence is simply the top layer of unfathomable.

And I bring all of that to my coaching sessions and classes.

The Leading Lady life is not for sissies, no matter how un-warrior-like it may look from the front row.

Powering up is not the same as powering over, although those you left behind may feel it that way.

Putting yourself in the center of your life is how and when your life changes.

Your life – Starring YOU.

Isn’t it time you took back full creative control of your story arc, your wardrobe, your surroundings and your desires?

In the theater, Backstage is where the creative, magical, powerful people who literally create new worlds for us all, gather.

It's where the work gets done, the skills get mastered, the outfits and props get chosen and szooshed.

Your life is the stage.
The leading role is yours, from the moment you choose it.

Backstage is where you build it, in cahoots with THE Leading Lady, Jacqueline Gates and a whole ensemble of fabulous people who are also learning to live their lives to the hilt.

And as with any real-world backstage area, you can only have access if you've bought a ticket to the show.

So this space is reserved for those who have paid to work with me in some capacity. It's not a public space.

It's Backstage.
